Paul Graham
In '95 Paul and Robert Morris created 'Viaweb'. Viaweb was an early e-commerce application, and is widely believed to be one of (if not the) first application on the web that could also be managed via [the] web (hence the name). Paul cited his reluctance to learn and program in a Windows environment as the principal reason for creating the (revolutionary) web interface. Viaweb was acquired by Yahoo in 1998 for $49.6MM, and the product became Yahoo! Stores.
In 2005 Paul was one of three founders of the Y Combinator (http://www.ycombinator.com) seed startup program which provides funding, and guidance to young technology startups.
Paul is also widely known as an accomplished LISP hacker and writer of numerous essays on topics ranging from startups and funding to programming and the social aspect of being a programmer.
