Pete Townshend is well known as the creative force behind the British rock band The Who since the mid-60's, but on the Internet he has been as much of a pioneer as anyone in his business.

Begin around 1970, when Townshend conceived "Lifehouse," a concept that included the futuristic notion of people experiencing life through alternative reality piped to them electronically-- more Internet then "Matrix." While the full project "only" resulted in the "Who's Next" album, the concept stayed alive.

Fast-forward to the 90's as Townshend revisited the "Lifehouse" ideas in several projects, including a "Lifehouse" radio play on the BBC the "Psychoderelict album and play, and most recently the "Endless Wire" album by the Who in 2007.

In more practical terms, Townshend has been a multimedia blogger since at least 2001, offering up news, candid thoughts, peeks at musical works in progress, video of The Who onstage and backstage, and others.
